  1. Hi Dayna,

Visal here. Loving your blog. Noticed some places I need to check out.

I recommend you try the Bushrangers Bay Track in Cape Schanck if you haven’t done so yet.

    Cheers,
    Visal

  2. Hi Dayna
The castlemaine police station is actually the town hall and the town hall is actually the post office Cheers Glenn

    • Hi Glenn,
Thanks for dropping by and for your comment.
So the police park in front of the town hall and the police station is the larger (grey) building on the corner of the main street? Okidoki then.
      Thanks for the tip!
      : )

  3. Love it, you’ve inspired me to make my own!

  4. So that’s what you’ve been up to

  5. Ya better get your bums up to FNQ. I can give you some GPS marks if you use one. I’ll even take ya’s on a tour 🙂

  6. Ooops. Then I read more of your blog. Strike the GPS question :).

  7. I feel this is one of the most significant info for me.

And i am satisfied reading your article. However want
to remark on some general things, The website style is perfect, the articles is really nice : D.
    Just right activity, cheers

  8. Hi Dayna, I came across your blog while searching for images of Wilson’s Promontory lighthouse. I was specifically looking to see what recent changes may have occurred in the immediate vicinity of the BOM weather station. One of your photographs shows the BOM weather stations and also some solar panels not far away, and low to the ground. What I would really like to know is when those solar panels were installed. Best regards, Jennifer

    • Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for your comment on my blog.
It’s quite possible when we did the tour of the lighthouse and lightstation that we told when the panels were installed, but if so, I’m afraid I can’t remember.
Have you tried contacting Parks Victoria? (http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/connect-with-us) They should certainly be able to help you, or get back to you with an answer.
Otherwise BOM would know. They’re on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/bureauofmeteorology) and Twitter (@BOM_Vic).
Good luck, and sorry I can’t help you further.
      Best wishes, Dayna

  9. Hi Dayna, I’ve enjoyed a lot of hiking around South East Queensland but little in Tasmania and Victoria – except for Freycinet National Park and Wilson’s Prom. You make me want to get off my bike and hike! 🙂

    • Hi Gail,
Thank you for comment and the follow. I grew up in SE Qld so the places in many of your posts will probably be quite familiar – I look forward to reading about your cycling challenge.
Stephen and I enjoy hiking but, as I reveal in my next post, a few cycling adventures may start popping up – very excited about that!
      : )

  10. You have inspired me to hike more!

  11. Great work Dayna…Love your posts…..Spent an hour reading ..Excellent stuff…

  12. Hi Dayna, love your blog, especially your amazing photographs! So many walks in Australia, so little time. Some magnificent walks in Queensland! Many in the Scenic Rim not far from Brissie. Further afield, Carnarvon Gorge, Cooloola, Mount Walsh, Cape Conway ( in the Whitsundays), Mount Dalrymple….
I’ve paddled/ waded/ swum in the Pacific Ocean, the Torres Strait, the Arafura Sea, and I’d dearly love to dip my toe in Bass Strait so your posts on Wislons Promontory were very interesting to me for several reasons.
Dayna I would like your permission to use a couple of your photographs in my blog (kenskingdom.wordpress.com), with links to yours of course. I especially like the ones of your visit to Wilsons Promontory. The ones I would like to use are the view looking east down the path at sunrise (in Pt 3), and the other is the one of the weather station in Pt 1. Could you please allow me to publish these.

    Ken Stewart

    • Hi Ken,
Thank you for your comment. I have decided I’m quite adverse to humidity so it’s going to take a lot to get me to venture too much further north than Brisbane – and to tell the truth, I only go that far for family!
Thank you for asking permission – you may republish any of my photos with the only proviso that you credit them to @daynaa2000. A link is also appreciated.
      Best wishes,
      Dayna

  13. Hi Dayna we are looking for a good 2 day one night camping walk at the southern Grampians near Dunkeld what would you suggest. Cheers Graeme

    • Hi Graeme,
There is a camping ground at Dunkeld and others through the Grampians, however we haven’t combined hiking and camping so I am not the best person to answer your question, I’m afraid.
Greg at http://hikingfiasco.com/ would be a good person to ask, or any of the Victorian bushwalking clubs.
      All the best! 😀
